SUddenly the emails when someone enrolls are not sent to us. It could be after the upgrade of wordpress not sure. It was working well before. The error message says: |

Hi there, Are you using a transactional email service (recommended) or are you using the web server’s built-in mail server? If you’re using the built-in mail server, it may help to change the To: and From: fields set in the email message template to use the shortcodes that don’t output formatted names+email addresses. So for example, the From: field can have |

How do I know which tye of service I am using? It worked one week ago no problem. |
OK so I believe we dont use a transactional email service. So are you saying change the To and From to : But why would it stop working suddenly? |
Typically you’d have an account, and have a WordPress plugin installed. Like for example if you use Sendgrid, you’ll have this plugin installed: https://wordpress.org/plugins/sendgrid-email-delivery-simplified/ If you don’t have anything like the above installed, then the email is probably handled through the built-in mail server that comes with your hosting package. If that’s a shared server, then what can happen if say, another hosting account using that same mail server starts sending out spam, your email could also get flagged as spam. This is one of the reasons why we recommend using a transaction email service. |

I think this is a compatability issue with wordpress 4.7 upgrade, This all happened after U=I upgraded. Can you look into this. |
If this was a conflict between EE an WP 4.7 we would expect a lot more reports and we (the support team) have been using 4.7 for a while now without any issues. When sending Test email what are you using? (EE or a another plugin) If you view EE -> messages -> activity log How many emails are listed there? Do you have access to the servers error logs? If so check within those for any errors related to Event Espresso. |
Yes.
It may be the WordPress upgrade, or a change to your web server’s mail configuration. Since you’ve found that the test message sends work, that’s a good indication that using a non-formatted email address short code will help. This is because the test messages send to non-formatted email addresses. |

I tried many things. I have events that were made earlier and it SUCCESSFULLY sent the emails. Then I duplicated the event that worked and it did not send them to registrant and to us. What can be the problem? |
Have you tried using a transaction email service? We’ve looked into this and can verify that updating to WordPress 4.7 itself does not break email functionality. |
