I am getting registration duplicates when someone uses the back button in their browser. Is their anything that can be done to prevent this from happening? |
Hello Colleen, If this is happening consistently, there may be an issue with a plugin conflict. Sometimes plugins, like social media plugins, will reload the contents of the registration page. So while someone is viewing a confirmation page, there could be other plugin code executing that is adding these attendees into the database more than once. To test for plugin conflicts, deactivate all plugins, except Event Espresso, then run a test registration (following the step you described to create the issue.) If there are no duplicates, continue re-activating plugins one-by-one, testing each time you activate a plugin. When you get a duplicate, you’ve found the plugin that is causing the problem. Also, if you have a caching plugin, we recommend excluding the registration and payment pages from being cached. Please let us know if you need further assistance. |

Thanks Jonathan. Is their away to add an “edit” button to the confirmation page? Some where next to the confirm button to prevent them from using the back button to edit their registration which duplicates their registration?? |
Colleen, Simply clicking Back in the browser before confirming the registration should not cause duplicates, unless they are actually confirming the registration. In that case, they have registered and there isn’t a way for them to go back and edit the information. You would need to edit the information in dashboard. Have you tested the steps above? If you are getting duplicates, it is probably a conflict with a plugin. Please let me know if I can help further. |

It enters the attendee information as soon as I hit the “submit” button Then I get the confirm/verify the registration page? |
Yes. It is supposed that is how it is designed. It will add them with a payment status of Incomplete, unless otherwise specified in Event Espresso settings. |

Okay. So if someone fills out the registration form, presses submit it will take them to the verify/confirm page. If they need to change something then they will need to use the back button to take them back to the registration page to make the change. Then they will need to press submit again which will duplicate their registration. Why have that verify /confirm page?? |
Colleen, I’m sorry for not answering your question directly sooner. We had a feature that allowed registrants to edit their information before clicking confirm, but we were having issues with it, so we pulled it. We have added it back into the next update which should be out soon. I’m not positive on a date. Also we are working on an option that will allow you to remove the confirmation page entirely, but I’m not sure when that will be available. |
