Registration Details Not Carrying Over to Multiple Datetime Purchases

Our client often utilizes Event Espresso to allow parents to register their children for events. We are running into an issue where the child’s registration details are not carrying over to the filtered CSV registration reports in the instances of parents who purchased tickets for more than one datetime. For the first datetime purchase, the data is populating, but it isn’t for subsequent datetimes. To rephrase that, the parents’ information and the address information is populating in all instances, but the data related to the “student information” question group isn’t populating on any datetimes beyond the first one. Here is a screenshot for how we’ve set up the forms and here is a screenshot of what the filtered registration report looks like. I’ve removed the sensitive information in the forms and replaced it with the field names, but you can see the numerous blank fields. Those are all registrants who are on their 2nd or 3rd datetime for this event and their child’s name (the actual registrant for the event) is missing. Is there anything we can do to solve this issue?

We are running WordPress 4.4.8 and Event Espresso 4.9.30.p

I am an account executive and not the web developer, so if I’ve omitted any important details, please let me know. Our web developer will be back in the office tomorrow and I am just trying to get the topic started so we can implement any fixes once he’s back.

Thanks!

Britney

Hi Britney,

The first thing to check is whether those registrations that are missing data were from transactions that had multiple events, or were all the registrations for the same event?

They were for one event that had several datetimes. For example, they were all under the Building Bots event, but one person may have registered for the February, March and April datetimes. Everything populated in February (the first datetime purchased), but in March and April, the student questions are no longer populating. They receive a discount if they purchase more than one datettime of this event and each of our Building Bots sessions have a different topic, so it’s very common for them to purchase multiple tickets that admit them to multiple sessions of the same event. Does that answer your question?

Because of the volume of events they hold, it had been recommended by EE’s support staff that we organize it that way rather than making each session its own event.

Yes that answers my question. If you go into view the transaction of one of transactions that has missing reg. details, then click on each of the associated registrations, are the registration details displayed on each of those pages?

No, the reg. details are only displayed on the first registration item.

So, for example, here is the registration items for a registrant who purchased 4 tickets – Same event but on different days.

Registration Items

The reg. details are correctly filled out on the first ticket ( the one for February 7th ), however for the other 3 date times, the reg. details are empty. See screenshot.

Thanks for checking. I went over to your site and made some test registrations in one transaction, can you check to see if those registrations missing the registration details?

I’m really not sure why those fields are missing details, they’re required fields so when they fill out those forms, the validation should not allow the forms to submit without information there. Do you have a way of cloning the site to a development server so we could do some troubleshooting there? If so, you can send the information on how to access that development server via the secure form on this page:

Yes, the registration details are showing up for your registration.

I setup a development server and a test account Josh.

I reviewed the event and what this looks like to me is the Questions for Additional Registrant’s Student Questions question group was likely activated on or around February 7. Before that, the questions for additional questions were not set to be on the registration form. This is because there are no recorded answers for any of the additional registrations up until that date.

So it doesn’t look to me like the child’s registration details are not carrying over to the filtered CSV registration reports, it looks more like the questions we’re not asked prior to February 7. All of the registrations since then have that information.

Can you check with your client to see if the highlighted checkbox in this screenshot was actually unchecked before around February 7?
