Once I click on the Registration Confirmation button I am sent to the Payment Overview page and although another message on this page says ‘Your registration is not complete until payment is received.’ I still get an email notifying me that I have registered although I have not paid yet.
Should I only receive a confirmation email when I have paid and not before. Just seems a bit misleading. Just wondering now if I have this setup correctly.
It turns out that there is an option that lets you control whether the Registration Confirmation emails get sent *before* or *after* the payment is made. You can change what’s set in Event Espresso > General Settings > Email settings.
Ah thanks for this. I completely missed this and must of turned it on at some point early on.
For the next option down: ‘Use fancy email headers?’ I had it on ‘Yes’ mainly because my client wants to be able to reply to a recipient. Client has been complaining of email notifications not coming thru. Could this be why?
When I click on the information symbol I see this text ‘You should only use this if you know it will not cause email delivery problems. Some servers will not send emails that use this format.’
So my question is how would I know if my server even allows email to be sent in this format?
The easiest way to find out if this is supported is to run a couple test registrations.
However, I did see that you mentioned that some email notifications are missing. If this is still happening, then we recommend using a transactional email service like Postmark or Mandrill:
They will take over email deliverability from the native wp_mail function. Also Mandrill offers a free tier up to 12,000 emails per month.
