We had a registration canceled 3 days after the event was over and a refund notice went out to the person and a refund was attempted through paypal but not through our braintree account. It shows an overpayment. Why can a registration be canceled after the event and why was only a partial refund paid and why doesn’t it show on our payment processor, Braintree, at all.

Hello,

Could you share feedback on how this registration was cancelled?

For example, did the guest not attend and then you refunded via your merchant account and then in Event Espresso?

Note that a guest cannot cancel a registration on their own so I’m trying to determine how the refund was processed.

As far as I know, no one cancelled the registration on our end. We did not refund via our merchant account. This was an odd occurrence and has led to issues with accounting balancing the information. I find it also odd that it tried to refund using a different method than our Payment Gateway

Is there a possibility that another registration was meant to be cancelled for another event? Regardless of what happened, if a registration is cancelled in the Event Espresso interface, it will not automatically send a refund via Braintree or other payment processor.
