Since upgrading to ee4 everything license, registrants are receiving both the generic and a custom template registration approved emails. Any ideas on how to stop the generic email?

Hi there,

The license has no effect on how Event Espresso functions so it won’t be due to the license. Did you update from a previous version of EE?

Have you received reports of this from registrants, or is this from your testing?

If this is from testing, are you using the same email address as the event admin? There is a message sent to the admin and a message sent to the registrant for each registration, if you are using the same email address those emails will go to the same person and look like a duplicate.

Yes I had to update EE when I changed licenses.

My system information
WordPress Version: 4.7.5
PHP Version: 5.6.30
MySQL Version: 5.6.35
Event Espresso Version: 4.9.38.p
WordPress Address (URL): https://safety-solved.com
Site address (URL): http://safety-solved.com

Ok, so I’m confused….the custom email I was previously using prior to the update had the event admin as recipient. The standard email had the registrant as recipient. But I’m not currently getting any registration emails myself. Is my recipient getting anything? I have no idea….

For the Event Admin context or all?

Every message template has multiple ‘contexts’, it’s a message template but each of the individual contexts can be edited individually. So if you selected a custom message template for your event it’s that template that’s useds for all context, not just one (the event admin) and the others receive the default template (the registrants?).

You mentioned above they are receiving 2 email? The custom and default.

If you add a test registration to your event, do you receive both the event admin email and the registrant email?
