Hi guys on my site http://www.irishcookeryschool.com when I process and event to submit and I’m taken to the event registration page its all messed up, when I click on confirm registration its throwing me to http://www.irishcookeryschool.com/?page_id=2370 but I’m using post permalinks on my site, this throws me back to the actual [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] page, dunno what’s going on, my client is freaking out!

Any Ideas?

Hello,

What version of Event Espresso are you on?

Try to rule out any plugin conflicts. Deactivate all non-Event Espresso plugins, then test to see if the problem is still occurring. If it isnt then we know it is a plugin conflict. To find out which one, activate each plugin individually testing for the issue after each activation. If the issue occurs after activating a plugin, this plugin is the culprit.

Hi Steve,

So you are on 3.1.28.2? Did the problem start happening after the latest update?

No it happened with the two previous as well, I just updated to the one previous to 3.1.28.2 to see if it solved the problem, then to the latest to see if that solved the problem but no joy.

Okay. If you have outdated template files in the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory, this could cause the problem. Click the “Rename Directory button under Developer Templates in the Template Settings area.

This only started from version 3.1.28.P can I roll back to the version beforehand ?

Hello,

As Jonathan states it is likely due to the templates files being changed but in your uploads/espresso folder they contain the old ones.

If that rename folder option is not their, then you can rename the folder via FTP.

Note that you will need to check your old template files against the new ones in order to regain any changes you have made.

Apologies for this, we are looking to improve the templating system to minimize this sort of issue.

I was able to rename the templates directly under wordpress, still having the same problem, what I dont understand is when I get to confirm registration its taking me to http://www.irishcookeryschool.com/?page_id=2370 when I have post permalinks set, and its doing the same thing throwing me to the events page rather than the payment page, im really stumped and the client is going nuts as they cannot take bookings online, can I mail someone login and FTP details top have a look for the problem ?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for sending the info. We we’re able to fix this by wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode with the [raw] short tags. We’ve made some changes to Event Espresso recently that are being affected by themes that have filters that add auto-formatting to page content. Many of these themes will add support for the [raw] shortcode so the auto-formatting can be overridden, which is the case with your theme.

You can read more about theme auto formatting here:
