September 26, 2024 at 11:36 am Hi, I don’t know if I am missing something, but how do I set it up to allow registrants to have a login where they can check what events they have registered for? |
Hi there, You’ll need to install the WP user integration add-on: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/wp-user-integration/ Then create a page and add the Note – your users wont see their registrations on that page until AFTER they have made a registration on the site with that add-on enabled. |

September 28, 2024 at 12:18 pm Ok, I have gotten eveything setup. I am confused on how to let people who have purchased past event registration to view their registrations. When they register will all events pertaining to their email showup? or is there no way for us to pull those past events and have them show up for them when they view their events? |
Sort of. The My Events section pulls in all the registrations related to a WP User’s EE contact. All EE Registrations create an ‘EE Contact’ with the first name, last name and email address used during the registration process (this happens even without the WP user integration add-on), what the WP user integration does, is link your WP user account to your EE Contact during the registration process. The ‘My Events’ section then says (in English), ‘Hey! This WP User’s EE Contact ID is 111, so pull the registrations linked to Contact 111 and display them’. But, if you’ve only just installed the add-on, the WP user account doesn’t know what EE contact it is linked to yet, so the above query can’t work at that point. The relationship between the 2 will happen the next time the user registers onto an event, the WP user -> EE Contact ID relationship then mans the above My Events section query can work. One the above has happened with the add-on enabled, any registrations linked to that same contact will show for that user. I assume you have users that have registered onto multiple events using the same Fist Name, Last Name and Email? I can walk thought one of those to see this in the admin id that’ll help show what is happening? |

We actually had to remove the required registration for new event signups. It wasn’t working properly. When someone tries to register, it won’t accept the new signup. We also have a membership program that we use for memberships and use a different plugin for that. Could this be causing issues? Can I get help setting this up? |
What happened at this point, did it show an error?
Possibly, it depends what was happening above. Which membership plugin? Is there an event I can register onto to view the issues you were having? |
“When someone tries to register, it won’t accept the new signup. We use member press for our memberships. You can register for any open event to see the results of the issue. I reconnected the registration to events so you could interact with the issue we are having. The website is https://thebespokemarkets.com |
Ok… so this:
Isn’t connected to Event Espresso as such. What is happening there is EE is defaulting to use the default WordPress registration page. Looks like MemberPress is blocking registrations on that site and everyone needs to go through registration by purchasing one of these 2 options: https://thebespokemarkets.com/membership-program/ Is that correct? Or is there another page used specific for member registrations without making a purchase? |
Yes, that is correct. Just those two options for purchasing memberships. There are no other registration options. |
Ok, so in that case go to Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> User Integration Settings (tab at the top) Set the ‘Registration Page URL (if different from default WordPress Registration)’ field to the above page: https://thebespokemarkets.com/membership-program/ https://monosnap.com/file/Ov5GPVEvLnOsB4UgLVPQ6rOjfHmOHl That way the register link will direct the user there and they can purchase a membership. I’m guessing you’ll also want to change the wording of the message shown with that link? If so if you let me know what you’d prefer the text was I’ll put together a snippet to do it for you. |
I appreciate your help, but I do not want people registering for events to have to purchase a membership—there are no free options currently. Do I need to add a free membership option for those who want to participate in events only? Is that my only work around? |
Ok, step back a second here then. What do you want to do with the WP user integration add-on? I’m asking because I read the above as you want users to have an account to view their registrations but don’t want them to have an account to view registrations. So lets figure out what it is you are wanting to do and then find out what you need from EE from there. |
Okay, we have two different types of registration. One is for Memberpress memberships, and the other is for EE events. It’s okay if they are all registered the same way, but the membership registration does not allow registration without purchasing a membership option. Users do not need to be members to register for events. Maybe I need to create a free vendor membership that gives them access to register for events and none of the other benefits. Is that what you mean? |
Just checking in. I havent heard back since the third |

Hi there, My apologies for the delay, I requested some feedback from a colleague who uses MemberPress more than I hoping to get a better understanding of the above but on reply it didn’t really help as it depends on your specific setup. So I’ll start with this:
Event Espresso doesn’t care about ‘memberships’ within your site, it’s looking for a logged in user (WP User account) for the option you currently have set up (requiring login to be able to register). You’re using MemberPress to manage your WP users/accounts which is why the default WP registration page isn’t working to create them, MemberPress blocks it. So, yes, what you need is either a free vendor membership managed by MemberPress to allow them to register an account, or a way to allow MemberPress to allow the default WP registrations (separate from EE event registrations) so that people can register an account that way. If you’d like for me to take a look over the site set up to see how I would set this up I’m more than happy to but will need temp login details: |
Thank you. I have submitted the info needed on the form you linked above. |
Right, so yes, I think the best set up for you is to create a free vendor membership with no additional benefits. You can then set the EE registration link to go to that free memberpress registration page to allow them to register and create an account. Once logged in they can then register onto the event. |
Great. Thank you |
Hi there, Just wanted to check in and confirm if the above set-up worked for you? |
