Registrant information missing from REG Details

(EE 4.2.5p with WP version 3.9.1)
Our event registration is very simple: Name, Organization, E-mail address, and phone number. The registration page requires this information. However, the phone number is missing when we view REG details both in “Registration Form Answers” area as well as in the “Contact Details” in the nav bar on the right. When we view “Event Espresso — Registrations” and click on the individual’s “Edit Contact Details” under Actions, this information is still not visible. The registrant’s telephone number seems to only appear if we actually click on the person’s name (hyperlinked) from the “Overview” area or export all registrations. Why does this information appear only in some places and not others?

Hi,

Are you using the default system question for a phone number or did you create a new question for another phone number?

The contact list page uses the system question for phone number.

I see two additional fields in the database that do not exhibit the “Lock” symbol. They appear with ID 15 and 16 and look to be duplication of other questions. However, it does not appear that these are used in the registration form question groups — at least not that I can tell. We currently have two question groups: Contact information and Address Information. It looks like these may be calling the added fields. I’m not sure why as this part was set up by a contractor. Is it because EE didn’t originally include those fields? Or, is it because we don’t require address information for a free event so we needed to have two different question groups? It doesn’t answer my question of why the information is not showing. Why wouldn’t event registration simply display/report any fields used to collect information for that event? Is there something in the back end of this I need to check? I’m afraid to make any changes while we have event registrations open.

Hi,

The phone number that is shown on the contact list page is a system question. The same also applies in the phone number in the edit contact page.

If its not appearing in the locations above but is appearing in the registration questions and answers area for a specific registration, then you may be using a phone number field that is not the original system question.

That is, a new question was created and label as phone number.

Does that make sense?

Are you seeing a phone number system question similar to the screenshot above below?

Hi Lorenzo,
Yes, there is one “phone number” question that is a system question and one that is not. Likewise, organization name. I believe that these fields have been used and so I don’t know how to sort this out now. Would it be better to go on from here, using system questions only in any future events?

If you need the phone number to appear on the contact list page and in the edit contacts page, then you would need to use the phone number – system question.
