We have closed booking for an event by configuring Display Registration form =No. but a user managed to register for that event by using Add to Cart Option …

Hi,

If the booking form is removed but add to cart is still available (generally the form removal was because people just wanted the add to cart button), then the users can of course still purchase a ticket, as the event is still open and a way to purchase is still available.

If you need to functionally close an event, you are best off either changing the “Is this an active event?” option in the event editor to No, which will remove the event from the listings; or set the Attendee Limit to match the number of attendees so that the event is maxed out; or even use “Alternate Registration Page (optional)” to redirect the user to a different page saying sorry its full or whatever your want the message to say.

You could also change the registration dates to be in the past, which will effectively close the event as well.
