I am new to Event Espresso but I read the documentation and I am still having a ton of issues. Not sure if things are being blocked by my theme (which was the case with my last problem).

In creating a new event here are the issues I am coming across:

1. In the event editor “questions for primary registrant” box on the right side of screen, there is no box for me to check on one of my question groups. http://www.artnook.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Screen-Shot-2015-02-19-at-12.25.52-PM.png

2. Once the event is created and I click on the register now button, nothing happens! It does not bring me to the registration form I created or anything. Is there a short code for putting the registration form on a register page? Or is it just supposed to come up automatically when the “register now” button is clicked.

Please help.

Hi Matt/Cindra

1. The question group ‘Student Information’ is actually the system question group ‘Personal Information’ that you have renamed. The reason there is no checkbox is because that system question group is required for the Primary attendee and will always be selected.

2. Can you link us to one of your events to investigate please?

Are you running any caching plugins?

Is you web host running server side caching? (Who is your webhost?)

Are you using any re-direction and/or security plugins?

I do not know what caching is. But here are the plugins I have installed:

Akismet
Disable Comments
Easy Google Fonts
Event Espresso
Event Espresso – Calendar
Jetpack by WordPress
Mojo Marketplace
Simple Custom CSS
Site Plugin for myexamplesite.com

My web host is bluehost.

My guess is that once again something is being thwarted by my theme.

I installed your theme on a test site and didn’t have a problem with registrations, although sometimes settings within the theme can also cause issues.

Can you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Critical Pages tab.

Do all of the pages say ‘Page Status OK’ and ‘Shortcode OK’ – http://take.ms/2tRok

Go to Settings -> Permalinks. Make no changes and just click Save. (This will ‘flush’ your permalinks)

Hi Matt/Cindra,

I believe Seth worked through this with you and got the registrations working.

If you run into any further problems just let us know.

Can I also ask, you mention you are using Bluehost, can you tell me which hosting package are you using with them?

Is it the Managed WordPress hosting:

Yes. Seth helped me with this.

I am using the starter web hosting with bluest.

Hmm ok, I suspected some kind of caching issue (some hosts use server side caching) but as far as I know that package does not so doubtful that was the cause.

Caching is basically the server saving your sites pages to be displayed to future visitors, its fine for most content, but e-commerce and plugins like Event Espresso can not be cached.

I’m glad we could get you back up and running, any further problems just let us know.
