Hi there,
After the new update when a customer tries to register after filling the info and click the “submit” button, it goes in to a blank page! The site is live and I am missing lots of registrations. Please help.

Hello Ted,

It’s possible that you have some outdated templates in the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory. Can you go try going to Template Settings and clicking the “Rename Template Directory” button, and see if that resolves your problem?

Hi Jonathan,
I am in Template Setting now and can not find how to rename the directory. Where is it?

You should see a button at the bottom, under “Developer Templates”.

I don’t have that button! Do you know why? I can send you a screenshot.

What version are you on? We added that button in .28 that came out yesterday.

May we log into the site so we can investigate further? If so, please send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Please select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

Hi Ted,

If you are not seeing that button, it’s possible that you do not have any templates copied over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates.
If you did, it would look like this screenshot.

It would be a good idea to verify this be logging into your server via FTP or your host’s control panel file manager and checking for files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates.

The other possibility is a plugin conflict, but since you said this started happening right after the update, I’d check there first.

what should I search for in the host? If I find the directory what should I do?

In the file manager, you can look for for the wp-content directory, then look inside for /uploads, then /espresso inside that, then /templates inside of that. If the templates directory (or folder) has files in it, you can re-name the templates folder to something like templatesOLD

I did it and it didn’t solve the problem at all. It is so frustrating

Hi Ted,

Have you installed any Facebook plugins recently? If so, can you try deactivating them?

If you click on add to card it works better but the payment page is kind of weird
It just happened after the update. Can you please check it and let me know how to fix it

Hi Ted,

Did you see my above question about whether there are any Facebook plugins active?

Ted Karlsalr

I haven’t installed any plug in recently. I have had a 1 click plug in from the beginning and never had an issue

Hi Ted, It turns out that this was a conflict with the “Karma” WordPress theme which was resolved by wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode with [raw] tags like this: [raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

Thanks a lot Josh. Does it mean that I have to change the short code every time after updating?

You shouldn’t have to update the shortcode after updating, unless the theme developer removes support for the raw tags.

Nope. The shortcode is on the Registration page in the editor. Updating the plugin will not change that page.
