Register button directs to registration cancelled

I am still learning, but can somebody explain why when I attempt to register for an event and fill out the registration form, when I click the register button, it sends me to the [registration_cancelled] page…

Even when I am in go direct to event url, I get redirected to registration cancelled page. If anybody out there can help me I would greatly appreciate it!! I am supposed to be accepting students for a class that starts in a few weeks. Please help!!
