Regional Manager – getting it straight!

Getting my head into R&P Pro – will post separately to ensure I get each role separated.

From reading through the forum the RM is totally controlled via locales?

Although termed locales, they can, in fact, have nothing to do with geography at all; I could create a locale by company, even if they use a physical venue that is the same as another company, as long as the venue name is different, the system sees a different venue?

Without locales, RM is very similar to Espresso Master Admin (EMA), and will have access to questions, question groups, venues et al.?

Rm needs at least 1 locale assigned to it for EE to recognise that user as an RM and behave appropriately?

Thanks

Hi,

A Regional Manager (RM) is indeed controlled by locales.

Let’s say you have venues in Sidney and Canberra, both of those venues can be given the locale Australia. Then the RM assigned to Australia will have access to any event with those venues.

If you have some other venues set up such as Tokyo and Nagasaki, those could be given the locale Japan.

And yes it doesn’t have to be location based.

You could have 3 venues and give them the locale Rock Clubs, and another 2 venues Dance Clubs.

“Rm needs at least 1 locale assigned to it for EE to recognise that user as an RM and behave appropriately?”

If they do not have a locale they have access to all events. Once a locale is applied, they are locked down to just those events.
