Is there a way to allow guests to cancel and get a refund on their own, through the front-end of the website?

We have had to postpone our event due to the Covid-19 scare, and are now forced to issue quite a lot of refunds. Would be a whole lot easier if I could allow users to do it themselves.

I don’t think this is a feature but thought I would ask. I’d be willing to pay you guys to create the feature (within reason, of course, haha) – would save lots of time and hassle

Hi Allen,

Are you using the WP User integration add-on and forcing users to log in before registering?

If so it is possible to allow users to cancel a registration but NOT issue a refund, that would still need to be done manually. However, that may actually be harder to manage than the admin handling the whole process for large numbers of cancellations/refunds and may be harder to manage (you, as the admin won’t know which registrations have been refunded and which have simply cancelled themselves).

Whilst I’d love to tell you this is something we could do, one of the issues we have is each and every payment method has its own method for issuing refunds. Some allow you to refund through their API’s, others allow certain refund requests, others not at all and they must be done through their portal so each individual payment method requires a different refund integration (if available at all).

Which payment method are you using?

I can check if it is possible but even then, adding functionality depends on developer availability (officially we aren’t taking customizations on at this time, but I can check to confirm) so may be something you would need another developer to create.
