Reducing number of tickets available based on user selection of options?

Is it possible to create available ticket limitations based on user selections? For example, I have 20 tickets available for an event of those 20 tickets I have 5 slots available that include transportation. Will EE4 track those tickets. I had thought about creating a separate ticket that says “includes transportation” however, once all the non-transportation tickets have been sold I still want to have people be able buy the ticket with transportation even if they don’t need it. Another words, I want to sell out the event even if I have 17 sold tickets without transportation and only 3 with transportation without having to manually monitor the ticket sales.

Hi Michael,

If transportation is optional, then you could create that as a separate ticket and then set a quantity for it. For example, if there are only 20 seats available, then you could limit the number available to 20.

Then once 20 are sold, the ticket option will no longer be available for registration.

We run 50 events at a time with over 10,000 people registering over a 3 month period. I am looking for a “smart system” that can calculate variables within the available tickets.

The problem with creating a separate ticket is that once I have sold out of the non-transportation tickets, if there are still transportation tickets left, nobody will buy those tickets, but I need to sell them all. We were previously using “RegPack” software, but it couldn’t handle this request either.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Michael,

The only way I can see this working like you described is to change the name of the ticket and remove the “transportation included” text from the ticket once the non-transportation tickets have been sold out. I know you have a lot of events, but I’m not sure of another way to go about it.

Thanks for the reply. I have about 5 associations using EE4 and am pretty familiar with the core capabilities. Is there a custom coder for EE4 that could make a recommendation?
