If I duplicate an existing recurring event (irrespective of whether it is a single, all series, or upcoming) and then try to create a new series from that copy all the existing series gets changed. In the past I have been able to create new seies from duplication of an event, do I now have to create a new series from scratch each time?

Hi Peter,

I am unable to recreate this. Here is what I have done, can you advise your process if it differs from mine?

Create an event series.
Edit the last event in the series
(I edited the title to help show a difference)
Extended last event date
Select ” This and all upcoming events.”
Update

This will add further events to that series though it will not create a new series as such.

Hi Dean,

I am not having a problem creating, altering or extending a recurring events. My problem comes when I want to create a new series and duplicating an event in a series as a starting point for the new series. At the moment I am trying to create weekday events (school vacations) by duplicating my normal weekend events. I do not want to add the days of the week into the existing series since I want the new series to end at the end when schools start at the end of the summer. Process

Select an event from the weekend event series and duplicate.
Select the duplicated event and change the start and end dates (registration and event), the name, which is the time range stays the same.
Change the recurring event series start and end dates along with the day of the week.
Update what I thought was a new series.

The changes however are applied to the old weekend series, typically ending it at the end of school vacation, not the end of year. So how do I create a new series without having to recreate each event from scratch

Hi Peter,

I am not aware of a way to create a new series of recurring events without starting a new event from scratch. The start a recurring event option doesn’t appear in an existing event, and it hasn’t for some time now.
