Hi, I have EE installed and working but there are a couple of things holding it back for our particular events. We need to create recurring events that happen only once per week (which is fine) and run for a few months at a time, but we need users to be able to register for the entire series of recurring events at once. EE Version: 3 (new install) Let me know if you you would like access to the backend or have any thoughts. Thanks in advance for the help! Best, |
Hi Andrew, Using the Recurring Events Manager (REM) Add-on you can create your recurring events. Each individual day would need to be created as a separate event within Event Espresso, but you can set your events to all use a single event for registration, which I think is what you require. Just to be clear, do you want all users to sign up to a single attendee list that would be used for all event within that series? Do you not allow users to sign up mid way through the ‘series’? |

Thanks for the response. Yes, we want people to sign up once, to one event, but these events take place only on certain days of the week. So we can’t have them sign up for each event on each day. So we need a single attendee list for all events in the series, as you are suggesting. I’m wondering if we really need to be using EE4, with the “multiple dates/times per event feature”. Would this work better for us? If so, can we get a credit toward purchasing EE4, since we already bought EE3? I hope so! All else is working great with the plugin. Thanks, |
The EE3 license also gives you access to EE4 core and equivalent add-ons that are available for EE4, so you could try EE4 and see if it suits your needs, it depends on the functionality you need. EE3 can also create the events to suit your requirements, although it involves a little more work. As a general overview, you create the events with REM, lets say they recurred every Thursday for 5 weeks. REM will create 5 separate identical (apart from the dates) events, here is an example – http://take.ms/gKtys That creates 5 events, all of which can be registered onto individually – http://take.ms/6jFtt So we don’t want that, we want events 2-5 to all use Event 1 for registrations. So we open up the first event, under the event name you’ll find a ‘Short URL’ button, click that and copy the full URL from there – http://take.ms/26MGh Now go back to the event overview and edit Event 2. In the event options on the right you will find a ‘Alternative Registration Page Field’, paste the URL into that field – http://take.ms/YWthj You’ll notice in that screen shot I have also change the REM settings in the RED box to apply this change to that event (the second event) and any future events in the series. When you then update the event, those 4 events (Events 2-5, all link back to Event 1 when you try to register onto them). As mentioned its a little long winded, but should work for your requirements. If you prefer to try EE4 I would recommend installing WordPress locally (or on a development server) and testing EE4 there. I would not recommend installing on Live until you are sure it meets your requirements. If you need any more info on the above just let me know. |
