I have a question regarding the change this event/change all events in the series/change this and future events:
I have created numerous recurring events, and I have used the shortcodes as I described in another thread to combine specific events for volume discounts (https://eventespresso.com/topic/multiple-volume-discounts-questions/). To make this work properly, each shortcode must use specific event ID for the combination, so each event has to be edited individually to put the right combination in. Once that’s done, however, if a change is made that should affect all in the series, it isn’t just the changed field that is updated, but the description content is changed, too, so that all the specific shortcode combinations are overwritten and the edits have to be made again.
Which brings me to a question: In the pink change window, it says “Would you like to apply any of the changes that you have made to this event to”. I had taken that to mean only the changes that were made in that editing session, but now I’m thinking that’s not the case. Please clarify? What does it really mean when you make changes like that in a recurring event?
When you are viewing one recurring event in the editor, and you select the options to apply changes to more events than the one that you are editing, it will apply all of the changes that were made to that single events to the other events in the series.
So in all honesty, it would be more clear if it said “Would you like to apply all of the changes that have ever been made to this event to”
