A client has raised an issue with the Exclusion Pattern Editor in the Recurring Events Manager. Dates that are marked to exclude using the Exclusion Pattern Editor are ignored, and so these dates have to be manually deleted at the end of the process.
In my testing, this was repeatable but not consistent, and I couldn’t spot any commonality between instances where it worked vs. once where it didn’t. It might be more prone to fail when events span multiple months, but I’m not certain of this.
My client was trying to build an event that repeated weekly each Sunday between 20th Oct -15th Dec, excluding Sunday 8th December. In my testing, the Exclusion Pattern editor reliably ignores this excluded date when I recreate this sequence.
This looks like a bug, so I thought I’d let you know. Thanks for any help or updates you’re able to provide.
• EE v.5.0.26 AND v.5.0.27 (problem occurred with both versions)
• Event Espresso – Recurring Events Manager = v.1.0.0.p
• PHP 7.4
No problem – here’s a screenshot of the Recurrence/Exclusion patterns and here’s another of the dates generated. As you can see, it ignored the exclusion for the 8th December, and added it to the list.
