HI, I am building an event using the recurring events add-on. However, I cannot seem te be able to get the dates that are connected to the ticket to be displayed on the event page. This also happens when I am not using the Recurring Events add-on. I can only see the name of the Ticket on the Event page. I am wondering if i have a setting somewhere that I am overlooking. Can you help me with this?

Also, if I want to offer the same 9- week course more than one time a week. So course A lasts 9 weeks on tuesdays, but someone can also enroll in course A (9 weeks) on mondays. How do I do this?

Hope you can help me with these questions. Thank you

Hi, is this what you mean or can I actually link you to an event? How?
Thank you so much, kind regards, Hanna

Hi Hanna,

That link is ok, but becuase its a draft (so the above link is a preview) I can’t view that without being logged in.

So, if you don’t want the event published just yet just send temp login details I can use via this form:

Hi Tony, PLease note that this is our live website I have just sent you log in for. I am afraid that if you change things in settings that our live events will change as well. We have been using Event Espresso for several years now and recently discovered that we use it the wrong way around when we build an event.

I understand your concern 🙂

I don’t make any changes when viewing issues, I would advise what you need to change but wont make changes myself, for the exact reason you’ve mentioned.

Oh? I’m curious in what way?

Ok, it looks like you are loading a custom template specifically for EE event post types, correct?

All of your previous events seem to end up in a redirect loop, may I ask what is happening with those?

Can you create a development copy of the site we can look at away fro your public visitors? I think there is more going on here than just note displaying the datetimes on the event page, none of the EE content is being shown.

As these forums are public can you please change the password on the above FTP account.

I’ll also need WP-admin credentials for that site as the ones from your other submission don’t work there.

Please send both over using this form:

Hi Tony, have you been able to log into our testsite with the data I sent you?
Thank you! Kind regards, Hanna

Hi Hanna,

My apologies for the delay, I had to switch gears and get the latest release pushed out (which has now been done), so I’m back on this now.

Looking on your staging site, you are using a custom message template for the EE post type, which ultimately means that you are taking over control of what/where is output on that page.

Did you create the theme/template yourself?

I would prefer that EE just uses the standard template. However, will the rest of the site be affected since we also have a Woocommerce store running in this theme?

No, the custom template in the theme only loads for the Event Espresso post type, so disabling that only affects EE events.

I would very much like to see what happens to our testsite once we work with a standard template for Event Espresso. Can you tell me how to test this? What do I remove or update?

With the way the theme is doing it, it needs to be done within the theme itself.

You’ll need to use FTP/File Manager and go to /wp-content/themes/studiojurk/templates/

There you’ll see a template file called content-single-espresso_events.php

I don’t recommend deleting it incse you want to switch back and work on it, so just rename that so that espresso_events isn’t correct, something like:

content-single-espresso_events-disabled.php

Is fine, that will tell WordPress to just load the standard template.

You’ll likely find some styling conflicts or something else going on when you do this (I assume that’s why the original developer created a custom template here) but those can be fixed.

To revert back you can just fix the filename of the template again.

you’ve sent FTP credentials over so if you need me to make that filename change just let me know.

Done, take a look now.

Don’t be overly concerned with things that are squashed or look funky, look more at what loads and where as now your using the default template and EE can hook in and inject the event content.

The calendar behind the dates is strange however, I think there is a piece of code conflicting there (it look like our “subscribe now” button. So I suspect there is some extra code somewhere. Can you see what I mean and tell me whats wrong there?

Please update to the latest version of Event Espresso; we have a fix to prevent that in 5.0.34.p

The old events get messed up, I can understand that. Pictures are all gone but i can fix that.

Images shouldn’t be missing, which events? I’ll take a look.

Theres some weird redirects happening on that site, I’ve edited the .htaccess file to stop them for now! Your events should now correctly load from within the test site.
