Hi EE Support Team,

I am using the latest version of EE3 (3.1.36.6.P) with a fresh install of Recurring Events. One thing I don’t understand is why the following happens: I add the 1st event start date and end date, I add the last event date, fill out that the event repeats once a week on Monday. The time stretch is over 10 weeks but EE gives me only 9 events, it doesn’t actually use the last event date. If I change the last date to the next week, I get the 10 week stretch but I didn’t think that this was how it is supposed to function. I am running WP 3.8.4.

I tried testing this out with the first event date on 2014-11-17 and the last event date as 2015-01-19, and got all 10 events. What dates are you using?

Hi Sidney,

2015-01-07 to 2015-03-11 repeating on Wednesdays.

Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth,

Can you try setting the ‘Last Event Date’ to 2015-03-12 or 2015-03-13

Like so – http://take.ms/Th9Dw

Does the final event then display?

If so REM will still correctly generate the final event on 2015-03-11, the dates are used for events that fall within those dates, if correctly within the series. So setting the Final event date ahead a couple of days, will still only create the event on the Wednesday in this case.

There is a bug in REM that effects a small number of users in that the final event is not created if the final event date matches the last event in the series. This will check if this is the case for yourself.

Yes, it does correct it by going beyond the date. I just went to the next week but I will try just going beyond the end date by one day. The other issue I’m having is this: I generate the sequence of 10 events, then I go in to the second event of the sequence and add the Alternate Registration Page (the link to the first event). But when I go back into any event –– the very 1st one, the start date for the event is correct but the end date is of the previous week. I’m assuming it doesn’t matter because no one should ever see events 2 – 10, right? Any idea why this is happening?

Sorry here is my correction to the above post:

It will matter as the dates are used to calculate the event status and dictates if the event should be visible.

Can you post up the dates using are using within the Event and REM to create the series please? A screen shot is fine, just so I can copy your settings. I recommend using something like Monosnap.

Ok great. I created a test event and generated 3 screenshots of what happens. Screenshot 1 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/di83nwt85t3mzwu/screenshot-canvas-test-event-1.png?dl=0) –– setting up the initial event series. Screenshot 2 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/npqm0shghtf6h6l/screenshot-canvas-test-event-2.png?dl=0) –– pasting the Alternate Registration link into the second event –– the start & end dates of the second event are fine here. Screenshot 3 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/6i7ca898swf0i7r/screenshot-canvas-test-event-3.png?dl=0) –– this is the second event after I updated it, and the end date is now a week earlier. What I have been doing for now is to update each end date manually, but it is taking a lot of time and I don’t think that it is meant to work this way. Any help you have for me is awesome! Thanks so much!

Should I provide you with a more specific screenshot? Let me know if there is something else I can do on my end to provide you better information about my issue. Thank You!

Can you try using the REM version that is in the pre-release channel, 1.1.19.1? I was testing this and could not get it to fail, until I realized that I was on that version. When I switched back to 1.1.18, I could get it to fail as you described.

Ok, I will give it a try!

Hi Elizabeth,

Apologies for the delay.

Basically this is a bug within 1.1.18 in that as you edit events within a series (and using ‘This and all upcoming events’) you also need to alter REM’s settings to match the current event you are editing.

Currently you are editing the second event in the series, using the first events settings. So you need to alter the ‘First Event Date’ and the ‘First Event End Date’ to match the current events dates when using ‘This and all upcoming events’

1.1.19.1 should do this in the background for you.
