[hope to purchase: Business License & Roles & Permissions Pro/ using demo site] We need recurring events for all sorts of reasons – practices, classes and such. 1. We have some classes that are paid for up front for a month and you can pick and choose which classes. Visitor signup for the class, but don’t have to know which days they will attend, they just show up. Is it possible to have these types of classes on the calendar every day, but get a monthly attendee list printout? 2. We have some classes that you pay for each class and you have to sign up for each class you take and the classes run every day. Is is possible to have these types of classes also on the calendar every day, but on monthly and daily attendee list printouts? 3. We have some classes that run all week and others that only run on Mondays and of those some are pre-paid for a month, some are pay as you go. Is there away to setup the calendar so if a class runs all week, but it is paid for monthly that it shows up on every day, but no matter which day a visitor clicks it will charge them for the month and put them into the attendee list for the entire month and not just that day? Obviously we would put in the description that the visitor is paying for a month of classes, but we need the attendees all listed in one attendee list and not separate for just the day they happened to click. The same goes for classes that are just on Mondays each week. If the visitor clicks on the second Monday of the month and pays for the recurring “every Monday” class, will they be in the attendee list for the entire month or just that second Monday? Also, if there are 15 spaces for the month will the recurring events cut off the event when it reaches 15 total or 15 each day of the event? I tried to look this up, but the documentation is blocked.

Hi, 1) I think the best way to handle this would be to create a recurring event for each day of the month, and then after it is created get the first events URL and then edit the entire series so the “Alternate registration URL” points to the first event. What this does is allow for each event to be shown separately on the calendar, but only one event (the first) will actually take registrations (the others redirect to the first event). That way you can also just export the attendees from one event rather than 30 different events. 2) Yes, via recurring Events, but the exports will be individual to the events so only daily as the events are daily. 3) Possibly use the number one solution. Alternatively you could make the event 1 month long. “Also, if there are 15 spaces for the month will the recurring events cut off the event when it reaches 15 total or 15 each day of the event?” The Recurring Event Manager creates individual events, not a single event. So if you have a recurring event over one week, it will create 7 events. As such if the Tuesday event sells out, that event closes, but the others remain open if there are available spaces. The best description of the recurring event manager is a tool to help save time when making bulk copies of events. I hope I understood your processes correctly and answered what you need, but if you have more questions/need clarification, please let me know. |
