Hello,

I am about to prepare a registration for afterchoolclub. Parents will sign up kinds for full semester, but may choose days a week, every Mondays or/and every Tuesdays etc.
I would like to create an event for Mondays and when parent will sign up for Mondays, the system will sign up for every Monday within semester (but I would also need to remember about bank holidays etc.)
Is Recuring event add-on good for this task or should I look for other solution? Is there also an option to block days which are bank holidays?
Can parent buy one ticket which will be treated by the system as a group ticket for all Mondays per 1 person per semester?
sorry it’s bit conmplicated and don’t know how to put it in words.
Would be there also an option to “reserve” all Mondays in next semester (and thorought a whole year) automaticly, but now charge only of one semester?

Thanks for help,
Mani

Hi Mani,

I can follow up with each of your questions below:

Is Recuring event add-on good for this task or should I look for other solution?

No, recurring events as it stands is good for a task if it involves registering for one date out of many events that are all the same, but just different dates. Like a theatre production where you have one showing per day over the next month or so.

Is there also an option to block days which are bank holidays?

Sort of, if you don’t use recurring events, you’re not working with a formula, so you just input the dates that will be available.

Can parent buy one ticket which will be treated by the system as a group ticket for all Mondays per 1 person per semester?

Yes. In EE4 it lets you create one ticket that’s good for many or even all datetimes in one event.

Would be there also an option to “reserve” all Mondays in next semester (and through a whole year) automatically, but now charge only of one semester?

This is possible if you set up the next semester as a different event, and set its status to “Registration Not approved”. Then you’d need to activate the Multi Event Registration add-on. This way, when someone goes to register for this semester, they can also add next semester to their cart, but they’ll only be charged for the current semester, and you can later approve and send an invoice for the next semester.
