hello
i deleted a few attendees from and event in EE 3, is there a way to recover them?

EE 3 marked the payment as incomplete however the client showed me bank statements proving otherwise. I checked my bank and it checkouts so i’m wondering if EE failed to mark this attendee as complete?

Hi,

Deleted attendees are deleted from the database so the only way to recover them would be via a database backup.

Generally a completed payment that results in the system marking them as incomplete is due to a problem with PayPal reaching your transaction page. You can check here for a simplified transaction template that can help https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#incomplete

hello thanks
i dont use paypal but rather a custom payment gateway. Can you think of a way of testing in order to duplicate the same scenario?

Hi,

If it is a third party custom gateway then unfortunately we cannot support it.

I would however suggest setting it to the sandbox options if it has any and dumping the data at every stage to see what’s happening.

I would also perhaps compare it to the current default gateways it most closely matches (e.g PayPal for offsite gateways, PayPal Pro for onsite) to see how we have coded ours. It might provide some insight.

Duplicating the scenario may prove difficult if it is not affecting all your customers. I would talk to the affected customers and try and find out their setup – browser, event booked, tickets selected, payment method used (card type).
