Hi there,
I recently purchased EE3, but my web developer informed me that EE4 may be better for what we are trying to do. Is there a way to switch to ee4? The pricing is about the same.

Hi,

The EE3 licence also gives you access to EE4 via your account page.

Does this give me access to all of the ee4 features?

The EE3 License gives you access to the EE4 downloads.

These are the same versions of EE4 if you only had an EE4 License.

Just to confirm you understand that the EE3 Add-on’s are not compatible with EE4? EE4 has it’s own add-ons which provide more features, but not the same features as EE3?

Yes, I understand, but I recently purchased the US$199 version of ee3 and if I go with just ee4 do I get all of the addons and features as if i were to purchase the US$219 version of ee4.

Hi, the Event Espresso 4 everything support license comes with the core add-ons for Event Espresso 4 and all add-ons that will be released within a year of your support license.

It does not include any software for Event Espresso 3.

Event Espresso 3 business support license includes a copy of Event Espresso 4 and equivalent add-ons on the account.

For example, since your account has MailChimp for Event Espresso 3, then it will also include MailChimp for Event Espresso 4.

Hi Lorenzo,
Thanks for the reply. My web developer installed ee4 on a test site and I’ve been testing it all day today. It does look like it has the features that we want vs. ee3. If we end up going with ee4 for our site, is there a way to just upgrade and get the support license for ee4?

Hi, our sales team can provide you with some options for switching to a different support license:

Hi Lorenzo,
Thanks for the reply. I’m testing EE4 right now and I’m planning to sell tours on a daily basis. For instance, TOUR OPTION 1 will be offered every day of the year, the price would be the same for each ticket and I would like to close the ticket sale 2 days prior to the date. What is the best way to go about this using EE4 for events that are offered on a daily basis?

Hi, in this case, I would create the event in Event Espresso using the event editor with as much detail as possible.

Then duplicate that event. You’ll then be brought to that event so you can update the name (event name/title) to remove the duplicate in the title and then adjust the dates and save changes.

The other option is to create one continuous event using the event editor for the entire year but this will not enforce the ticket closing period of 2 days before the actual tour.
