Recaptcha causing trouble

I am getting complaints from registrants over the last week that they fill in all of their info and and verify the images in recaptcha. After the check shows up “I am not a rOBOT” they proceed to payment only to get the error “Please complete the anti spam test before proceeding.”.

I have cleared all caches, deactivated and reactivated wordfence, added exclusions (they are https pages so they shouldn’t be cached anyway) and deactivated autoptimize and w3 cache. I have also tried deactivating and reactivating all other plugins but I can still duplicate this problem. Other than updates, there have been no other changes to the site in months.

Any help appreciated. I have not been able to get registrations since last week unless I deactivate recaptcha in EE.

I think I got it – seems to be a part of the wordpress jquery issue. Updating my theme seems to have helped.

Hello,

Based on your troubleshooting steps, I think that this may be related to WP 4.5 and jQuery.

Does this help resolve the issue?

Thanks Lorenzo. Yes I think that was it. I updated Avada past 3.8 and it seems to be OK. I will start adding my caching back and see what happens.
