Is there anyway for someone to change the seat selection anfer the registration is complete?
Also, on the back end, when I change the seat manually there are 2 issues:
1. It make the seat ‘unavailable’ on the chart but does not release the original seat. so the person now shows 2 seats in their name.
2. on the attendee list on the dashboard, it still shows the original seat.
At this time the seating chart add-on does not have a user-facing feature where ticket buyers can go back and change seats. Seat reassignment can be done via the admin though. So if someone emails in or calls wanting to change their originally selected seat to something else, here’s how the event manager can re-assign them to a new seat:
1) Go to the Event’s attendee overview in the admin
2) Open the original attendee record that request the reassigned seat
3) Note all their information (payment, email, etc.)
4) Click the Add Attendee button
5) Enter the attendee’s details and select their new seat
6) Save
7) Delete the original attendee record
Why cant the seat be changed without have to add a new attendee and deleted the original rsvp? This sound kind of backwards…. Is this how the plugin is designed or is it a bug that you plan on fixing?
Also, is it possible (via custom coding) to make the the ‘change seating’ avaiable on the public end? There are always people who want to change seat later to sit with friends…
It’s not a bug, the seating chart was built to have a very simple feature set.
If you would like to add this feature, we can recommend contacting a developer to get a price on adding new features to your specification. IvyCat has the most experience with extending the Event Espresso’s add-ons to client specifications.
