Randomly Changing Registrant Names

When an attendee registers for the event on our site, they are receiving confirmation with a random prior attendee’s name instead of their own. Happens both with credit card payments and with invoices.
When I did a test registration, the main registrant name was unchanged but the second registrant name is someone random who attended another event months ago.
I use EE4 and wordpress 5.0.3. This started happening last week and I updated my plugin but the errors continue.

Hi Amanda,

Do you have a backup of the database from the time that other event from months ago happened? It sounds like some of that data may have been removed from the site, so now new registrations are getting saved in their place.

I haven’t removed or changed anything lately. I double checked and the last time the random person attended our event was 2015. His old registration is still visible from way back then.

But do you have a back up of the database? We’ll need to see a back up of the database to compare it with the current database in order to help you get to the bottom of this.

If you’re not regularly taking backups of your site, today is the best day to start.
