Questions about Members UNregistering

Hi, I’ve downloaded lite and played around on our dev server. I’ve also requested access to the presale site to play and still have a couple of questions.
1. Can members unregister after registering for an event? All our events will be for our club members, so no money will change hands upon event registration.
2. Is there a way to make the attendee list public or at least the numbers (ie- 15 of 25 spots reserved) – this might help us to fill up our fitness classes.
3. Can we disable someone’s account? If someone registers for a spot in one of our fitness classes and does NOT show up, we want to be able to keep them from registering until a later date – ie- one week. I assume we could also remove their reservations from other classes during the same week as a penalty for not showing up.
4. Can events be created to show up on the calendar without having the ability to register for the class? ie- our evening classes require a sign up, but our less popular during the day classes don’t, but we’d still like to show all classes on the calendar.

Hello David,

  1. Can members unregister after registering for an event? All our events will be for our club members, so no money will change hands upon event registration.

You can use the [ESPRESSO_MY_EVENTS] shortcode to display a list of events that the user has registered for. They can then cancel their registration from that page. More info here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#event-price

  1. Is there a way to make the attendee list public or at least the numbers (ie- 15 of 25 spots reserved) – this might help us to fill up our fitness classes.

You can use the [LISTATTENDEES] shortcode to display attendees on a page. More detailed information here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#attendee-list You can also use the Attendee Numbers shortcode to display the amount of attendees that have registered. More info here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#attendee-numbers

If someone registers for a spot in one of our fitness classes and does NOT show up, we want to be able to keep them from registering until a later date – ie- one week. I assume we could also remove their reservations from other classes during the same week as a penalty for not showing up.

This would actually be a manual process done through Attendee Reports in the dashboard.

The only way to do this is to create an event and do not enter a date for registration start and end. However, when the user clicks the date, it will take them to a page that says, “This We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed. Please contact us if you would like to know if spaces are still available.” I don’t know if this would be ideal for your situation, although you can change the text on the page if you would like. Just note that if you change the text on that page, it will appear on all events that are closed to registration. I hope this answers your questions. Let us know if you have more.
