We’ve taken over a site for our client, which they sell tickets for events.
The previous developers for the site create different pages for different conferences e.g.
/conference1/register <- critical pages are registered in this area
/conference2/register
I’ve noticed that the critical pages in EE are only able to be assigned to one page.
So in the example above, would conference2 use the checkout process for conference1 due to how the critical pages are set up?
The main reason I noticed this was due to when I had multiple events for testing and I went through different ones, I was getting information about the wrong event when purchasing tickets for a different event.
The email I receive is correct due to that using information direct from EE. But the pages were hard coded in the pages section of the WordPress CMS.
Is it possible to use multiple critical pages or has it ever been possible in the past?
The site was running EE3 and we’ve now upgraded it to EE4 as a side note.
Those may have been landing pages with a shortcode for the registration form to complete a registration.
In Event Espresso 4, the ticket selector triggers registration checkout once a registrant/attendee selects a pricing option and clicks Register Now. At that point, their contact information is collected along with a payment for the registration.
The critical pages in Event Espresso 4 help process the registrations for your events on your site and there are four of them which are automatically created.
Are you needing to collect different information for different events?
If so, you can already do that by creating new questions and assigning them to a question group.
Then you can choose the question groups that are used for each event.
