Question Groups Empty and Cannot Repopulate

Starting recently (unsure exactly when), our Question Groups have all emptied, including required entries such as Participant Name, Address etc.

If I go into Question Groups and choose a group, none of the previously selected questions show as chosen, and nothing saves if I reselect and click Update.

This makes it impossible for anyone to register for anything. What could have happened?

We are using release 3.1.36.6.P, and Word Press version 4.0

This is a critical issue. Please let me know how to proceed.

Thank you,
Ross

Hi Ross,

Can you check to see if the Roles and Permissions add-on is active? If it is active, can you try deactivating it?

It is not active.

Looking at the attendees list, I see that people were able to register through Oct. 1 at 5:50pm (the last successful registration). There are 3 registrations that came in blank this afternoon.

Actually, if I click into the attendee information for one of the people who signed up earlier this week, there is no name, just a long error message string from WordPress. I’ll send you that error message in a moment.

This is what shows up in the Attendee’s screen

Registration Information [ Primary Attendee Record ]

Please Note: Changing the price type will not affect “Attendee Ticket Fees” on the right side of this page. Price changes will need to be updated manually.

Hi Ross,

It turns out the “WordPress database error: [Got error 28 from storage engine]” means the disk on your server is full.

The last time this was reported by another Event Espresso customer it turned out that they had months worth of full site backups stored on the server. They moved those off the server and that fixed it. You may also need to contact your host if you’ve got no where to free up space to see if they can give you more space, and they may need to run a database repair on the affected tables.

Ah.

Thank you. I’ll check with our ISP

I just got off the phone with the ISP, and you were right, we were out of space. I have had them increase our space allotment, and we’re set on that score, but things are still not working right.

I restored from a backup from last week, and I’m still seeing the error. Is there a way that I can open the database files to see if there are bad records?

Hi,

Could you post the latest errors that are occurring?

The error that shows up in the attendee record is exactly the same, and I still cannot populate the Question Groups

Hi Ross,

This sounds like your host will need to run a database repair on the affected tables.

I’ll call them.

Thanks

Hi,

Please keep us updating. If you are seeing any errors on the database, then your webhost should be able to help you resolve these.

If you are seeing errors specific to Event Espresso that are not related to the database, then please post a couple of them here so we can continue troubleshooting this issue.

Thank you.
Our host is working on an issue so I will have access to MyPhpAdmin. On Monday I’ll be able to repair the database I hope.

Which tables should I look for to fix the Question Groups?

Thank you.
