Our client is setting up their new PayPal account (to use Event Espresso), and is presented with the following 3 options – which one should they choose? Thanks.
How do you want to add PayPal to your site?
Use a 3rd-party with PayPal built in
(like GoDaddy, Constant Contact, 3dCart and others).
Create payment buttons with HTML
Use our Express Checkout APIs

Hello,
The PayPal payment gateway uses the IPN option from PayPal. Here is information on getting it setup:

Yeah, what I’m talking about is even BEFORE their PayPal account has been completed in its set up…it’s among the prompts as they’re setting up their account.

Interesting. In that case, go with this option:
Express Checkout
Note: the express checkout credentials are not used but you’ll need to get past the new user wizard to be able to access the IPN settings.
