in the events under available tickets reads qty: 6 and under qty sold: 5, so there should still be qty: 1 available to be purchased, however event on the website reads: SOLD OUT? please help.

Hi there,

Can you edit the event and take a screenshot of the ‘Event Tickets & Datetimes’ section, then add that here, please?

It is expected for the above to show sold out as you have 9 tickets currently reserved. The number of remaining tickets is {QTY – SOLD – RSRVD}

So 25 qty – 16 sold – 9 rsrved = 0 remaining spaces (16 sold + 9 rsrvd = 25)

The reservation system we have in place places tickets in reserve for the duration of a users session when a selection is submitted on the ticket selector (the default duration is 1 hour) and then the tickets should then be ‘released’ back to be available for sale. We do this to prevent overselling and multiple users registering for the last remaining ticket(s) as the same time.

How long have those 9 rsrvd tickets being sitting in reserve?

If you go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Site Health

Leave that page for about 30 seconds to load the tests, does it say anything about loopback or scheduled tasks/requests?

Are you logged in when viewing by PC?

The link above shows sold out for me, but that page has been cached so I’ll be getting a cached version of the page and if you are logged in on PC you’ll be getting the dynamic output.

As you are using W3 Total Cache you can follow the stops posted here to exclude EE event from caching:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/#w3totalcache

Also on my end reads (4) on Waitlist? how is that even possible when the registration is not even full yet.

Because it is/was full when the reserved tickets took up the remaining spaces, the event will show as sold out and show the waitlist button.

Is there anyway I can revert to the old version prior to recent update? the old one seemed to work well for us.

Sure, I can send you a link you can use to download v4.10.29.p (which I assume is the version you just updated from?) however, afaik there hasn’t been any changes in how the reservation system works with the above in a long time now.

BTW, Site Health reads:
The scheduled event, AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__sending, is late to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.

This can happen for a few reasons, I can walk you through some steps to look into this further if you are comfortable installing a plugin and viewing the cron events with it?

On that event, you’ve promoted 5 waitlist registrations so those will also be taken into account for available spaces now, ‘promoted’ registrations need to be taken into account to allow them to be able to take any spaces created for them.

Did you also promote registrations on the other event?

I can send you a link to download the last version of Event Espresso before the recent updates (V4.10.29.p) if you’d like to try that for your current registration period?
