Hi there,
I have reviewed the features of the software and it seems almost perfect for my needs. I need a system to run gym class booking. The user would be presented with a weekly timetable of events/classes, then they can choose one and book a slot on that class.
I see that EE4 supports the timetable view of events with the timetable add-on. It also integrates with all other wordpress features I will need. The only thing it is lacking is purchasing of events using credits.
So, I need users to be able to buy credits (i.e $20 = 20 credits), then use their credits to book classes.
I understand EE4 won’t currently support this so am open to suggestions on how I might custom integrate it. Is there anything you can think of?
I’m considering using woocommerce and one of several credit plugins for that. Users can then easily purchase packs of credits. Then it would be a case of linking their credit balance to Event Espresso when purchasing a place in a class. I’m competent with PHP development but without installing all of the plugins and experimenting I’m not sure how feasible this would be.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Would it be possible to set Event Espresso to take payment from a custom field value that is associated with the user?

Hi Philip,
We have had this query in the past, but there’s never been enough demand for it to be worked on by ourselves.
In theory it’s possible, but most things are. If it were me, I would look to create a custom gateway, similar to say the Invoice gateway, but where it hooks into the credit system and updates accordingly.
You can access EE4 over on Github for development purposes, but please note, unless a licence is purchased we do not offer support, and access to the Github repository may be withdrawn at any time.
Addons aren’t available, but I don’t think those will matter while sussing out if the plugin can be bent to your needs.
