Pulling Custom Reports from the EE Database

Just a quick survey – we’ve seen a steady increase in registrations since switching to Event Espresso (and a steady decrease in abandoned shopping carts) and that’s gotten the (positive) attention of our leadership. Of course, now they are asking for reports that are not generated “out of the box” – number of registrations for a given date range, registrations for a specific category of event, etc. Obviously, with the flexibility that EE provides in setting up the system, I don’t expect EE to be able to anticipate every type of report that we could need.

So, I am curious what tools or plug-ins others are using to query the MySQL database to get their own reports. A quick Google search came back with a few “top 10” lists but when I checked them out, several of the plug-ins hadn’t been updated in over two years, no guarantee of compatibility, and so forth.

Anyway, and feedback and insight from other users on how you’re pulling data would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Rob

And, of course, 30 seconds after submitting this, I see the information on the REST API. I’ll sick my web developer on that but, in the meantime, I’d still be thrilled to hear/read what others are doing.
