Hi,

just a quick question. I have looked at some of the forum topics but cant find the answer. Is it possible to restrict the promotional codes based on their venue?

We are gong to sell individual codes to people, which we generate with the promo addon. then we would be sending this code to the customer. is the following possible.

Say i have Venue A and Venue B, they have sold 6 tickets each. I want to restrict the promo codes so that the 6 bought from Venue A only apply to venue A. and those from Venue B only apply to Venue B.

This is only until we have worked out a better way to sell these promo codes (the idea is to allow them as gift certificates, which is not possible yet), or the woo commerce integration roadmap is finished (already voted for!).

If it is not possible, then no big deal. Il just have to keep a closer eye on who is using which codes at which venues.

Regards,

PhilB

Hi there,

You can actually restrict promo codes to specific events. So when you set up a promo code for Venue B, you check the boxes next to the events that are located at Venue B.

Hi Josh, thanks.

I had spotted that, i had just hoped to allow it at the venue as a whole so i could allow its use on an event which may be created after the code is created.

Basically, we want to sell the codes up until December 24th. The event organisers will give each customer a ticket with a predetermined number on, then that is sent to me to add the codes in to EE. So each code would be used once on an event of their choosing.

The issue is the codes will be valid until June and i will be adding events to the system leading up to that. I was hoping to ‘future proof’ the codes by just allowing all codes from Venue A or B to be applied to any event located there.

I understand what you suggest would basically give me that option but i wanted to avoid updating the codes every time i add a new event to that venue. Convoluted process (to me it seems, anyway) but unfortunately i have to do as instructed. If i need to update them each time, then that is what i will do.

Another question though, once i have created these voucher codes is it possible for me to update them when i add a new event? If it is then everything should be ok. I’ll just need to change the process i use when adding a new event.

Thanks for your time Josh.

Regards,

PhilB

Yeah you can go back later and edit promo codes after they’ve been initially added.
