I know you don’t have the groupon type settings available yet, but is there a work around, like make for now I can create an everything code so that any code put in would be accepted?
Currently there is no option to allow any/all input to be accepted within the promotions add-on.
Which Groupon option are you using as there are a couple of options. Do your groupons all use the same code which is then verified with a security code or are each of your groupon sales given a unique code?
The only way to do that with the current setup would be to input each of those discount codes into the promotions system and apply them to the Groupon event(s).
You could setup a ‘GROUPON’ discount and advise them to use that, then collect the actual groupon code (the unique code) within a custom question.
This would require the event admin verifying each registration and checking the unique code is valid, would that would?
If the events are Groupon specific events you could also set the event to use the default registration of ‘Not Approved’ then manually approve registration with a valid Groupon code.
However I’m not sure if that would work for your event setup?
Event Espresso currently does not support ‘conditional logic’ which would be needed for this, we have an open feature request on our Trello board here:
