My site crashed few days ago and i noticed that Promotional Codes are not working anymore. |
Hi Richard, The other post had an issue with the promo code box not displaying in the cart. Since your site does not have a cart option it would be a different issue. Can you let us know the name of the event and the Promo code assigned to it so we can investigate further? |
All the events have a promo code named SPECIAL50OFF |
Hi Richard, How much is SPECIAL50OFF set to discount? Is it set as a percentage discount or a fixed dollar amount? It looks like it’s discounting 25%. |
Thanks for the fast reply! Yes indeed, it’s set as percentage. Is this wrong? |
It depends. If you intend to discount each ticket by 25%, then it’s correct. If you intend to discount the tickets by another amount, it’s not correct. What is the intended discount? |
An event has the price of $50 for a person. If 2 persons register they pay $75 both. |
Did you change it? Now it looks like it’s set to discount $25 per ticket. A percentage discount equaling 25% will discount each ticket 12.50 to make for a total of $75 for two tickets. Please note that promo codes discount each ticket and will apply if one or two tickets are purchased. |
Yes, I changed it. Why it doesn’t not apply the coupon? |
It applied when I tried testing it. Are you entering the promo code in the Promo code field when you fill out the registration form? |
I do not enter any promo code. |
Is there any possibility to set the promotional code automatically without being necessary for the visitor to enter it? |
No, they’ll need to enter the promo code to get a discount that’s based on a promo code. The early discount feature will automatically apply a discount without entering a promo code though. |
Thanks alot for the informations you shared and for your time! |
One more question. How can i use early discount feature to work when 2 attendants registers but to keep the price full when a single attendant registers? |
Hi Richard, It turns out that the early discount feature will alwaysdiscount the price with one ticket up until early registration is over. It sounds like the Volume Discounts add-on is better suited for the discount scheme you are looking to offer: |

Hi Josh, |
Did you follow this guide first: Then you set up the Volume Discounts according to this guide: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/volume-discounts/ Then for more details with a usage example there is this guide: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-sell-season-tickets-with-volume-discounts/ |
