Hi,
I am wondering if there is any way with EE of having promotion codes that can only be used by previous attendees, identified by their email address perhaps.

Hey Nick,
That’s a tough one. Are the users registered with the site? If so it *might* be possible. It would still need some sort of customisation though.
Personally I wouldnt know where to start with that, I would straight away recommend a developer to look at it – https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/
If they are not registered then it is doubtful as the promo code is added before the registration details, so it can’t check for the email address.

Hi Dean,
No the users are not registered users, just members of the public booking on events. So, it sounds like this isn’t possible at the moment, and the only way would be just to email the promotional code to previous attendees and then manually check that those who use the code are actually previous attendees. I want to avoid the situation where promotional codes are shared with others who then use it to book.
I would have thought that this feature would be a welcome addition to EE. I can imagine others wanting to offer discounts to those who have attended previous events.
