Promotion code with minimum spend requirement

I note the question was asked in 2015 and the answer was “not at this moment in time” (https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee4-promotions-and-discount-codes-minimum-spend/, but can a filter now be applied to the system to check for a minimum cart value before a promo code can be used?

e.g. 5% off when you spend at least £100

Hi there,

We have not added this feature into the EE4 Promotions add-on as of yet, so no, not officially.

However, the Promotions input can be removed through a filter so for your use case of preventing the user of a promotion code you could add some custom code to do this.

I’ve previously created a snippet that does something similar based on which tickets were in the cart:

You can build something from that to remove the input based on some criteria, where you set that criteria will depend on the various types of restrictions you want to use but you may be able to use a custom field on one or more events.
