promo codes for categories

It appears that when I’m wanting to limit a promo code to events in a certain category I have to still apply the code to all the events within the category itself. So if I add new events in the category I have to go back in and apply to those individually after the fact.

Do I have this correct? It seems like once I set up the promo code and assign to a category I shouldn’t have to go back and re-apply for every new event.

Hi there,

It may seem that way, but when you select a category in the advanced filters box, it’s actually filtering the list of events by category. From there you can assign events that appear in the box that list the events. So you’re not actually assigning promotions to categories, you’re assigning promotions to events.

OK, I was just confirming because the scope dropdown made me think I could apply a different scope to the entire category.

You probably noticed that the Scope drop down doesn’t actually include a category option. Right now the only option there is “Event”.
