Hi, I am wanting to offer an array of promotion codes. I already have the add on but I was wondering if there was any way to let my viewers know these promo codes are available to them. How do small businesses usually do this? Is there a way to have a drop down on the check out page? |
|
Also is there any way to apply a coupon to a whole category of events rather than each event specifically? |

Hi, you could create a page that has information about the promotions and publish that page. The promotions field is a text field and a dropdown menu is not available. Events can be selected in bulk or individually through the event selector which appears in the bottom right area of the promotions editor. Selecting categories of events is not available. — |

And this is with the shortcode? Could a dropdown menu of promo codes be added to the checkout page if I were to pay for that customization? Ok. So for example, if I only want users to take advantage of a promotion once over the whole summer as opposed to once per summer event. That is NOT an option, in any way? Also what stops a user from using the promotion, refreshing, and then using the promotion again? Does the website remember their email address or credit card? |

Hi, this would just be a WordPress page with information that you add select information about and then publish. If you wanted to use the shortcode for the promotions system to show all available, then you could also do that as well. We are not taking on any customization services at this time. However, we do have Event Espresso professionals that you can reach out to: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ My earlier comments were referring to what is available out of the box today without any custom coding. A promotion code is tracked as soon as it is applied and it is counted as when the registrant finalizes registration. If a promotion code that is used is set to exclusive through the promotions editor then no other promotion codes can be applied. For example, a registrant could not apply a $10 coupon code multiple times to bring the cost of an event to free. — |

Ok. I am beginning to understand. I will wait and see if I have any other customizations before reaching out to the professionals. I know that you can set the promotion to be exclusive but I am talking about the number a person can use the promotion. For example, can a user buy an event (say Cartooning) with a $10 discount. And then can they come back a week later and buy the same event (Cartooning) and use the discount again? |
|
Hi, yes they could come back at a later purchase and use that coupon code. You are looking for a discount code that restricts use to one per registrant which isn’t currently a discount condition. The other thing is that they could use an alternative email which would workaround that restriction of one per registrant. — |

Ok. I understand. Thanks for your quick responses! |
