Proceed to checkout not working.

Proceed to checkout not working. It just redraws the page without any errors listed. This is extremely frustrating as we always seem to stumble onto a major issue exactly when we need EE to not fail us. No changes made to website. Worked for a few hours after ticket sales began and then stopped working. Is there an error log to check?

I disabled Recaptcha and everything is working again. Tried submitting new Recaptcha keys and it broke again. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi there,

Generally, this means that the allow_url_fopen option has been disabled on your server by your host and you are using the ‘Checkbox’ version of reCaptcha (which requires the above option is enabled).

I noticed you submitted a support token request for this so I was going to do a quick check to confirm, but the credentials are invalid or the account has since been removed.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System Information.

Search there for allow_url_fopen, does it show 0 or 1 for the global and local values?

allow_url_fopen is required for a couple of functions so it’s good to get that enabled on your server, however, we recommend switching from Checkbox reCaptcha to Invisible as checkbox can now be bypassed easier.

To switch you’ll need to generate a new v2 key and select ‘Invisible reCAPTCHA badge’.

Use that key in Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Reg Form Settings -> reCAPTCHA Anti-spam Settings

Then check at least the Registration form checkbox in the ‘Invisible reCAPTCHA Protection’ settings and save.

Then test a registration whilst logged out (or in private/incognito window), does it work then?
