Hi,
after last update all questions and queries have duplicated dozens of times. We have an important online sale and these problems are causing us economic damage! Please solve it as soon as possible!

Hi there,

Can you explain further please?

Where is this happening? Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

Or if its on the front end, a link that shows the problem?

Hmmm, are each of those question groups a new group or are they the same group repeated multiple times?

This isn’t happening on any of my test sites and we’ve had no other reports, so right now it appears to be specific to your site. I can’t fix it as I absolutely no idea what has happened, or how, hence the questions.

So… the question groups listed here – https://prnt.sc/hemk6y

Are they all the same question group displayed multiple times or is each one a unique group?

Also your registrations still work, I’ve just ran a test registration on your event to confirm.

Ok, tell me how to do this to delete the groups and questions you copied. The problem was born after the last update. First it worked all right !!

You can’t just go in an start deleting question groups which is why I’m asking specific questions above which for some reason you are ignoring.

I am trying to find out what is happening so that I can help you but I can’t do that if you won’t answer my questions.

They are dispayed multiple times!!!

I understand that, but that’s not what I’m asking.

Can I take a look within the admin so I can see what is happening? If so you can send temporary login details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Note – it is going to take time to figure out what is happening here, there is not quick fix! Do you have a recent backup from before you ran the update? You may be better reverting to that backup to get up and running and then troubleshooting this on a development copy of the site.

Ok,
I’ve sent you the accesses. See if you can fix it, so I try to replay a backup.

They are they all the same question group displayed multiple times.

They are they all the same question group displayed multiple times.

Actually, they are different question groups rather than the same group listed multiple times (if you click on them you can edit each individual question group independently of the others).

The FTP credentials sent are incorrect, can you recheck and resend, please.

Hi Giuseppe,

I spent some time going through your DB and could see the duplicate question groups and question, but no indication of why that happened.

I’ve just logged back into the site to take another look at the live site but it looks like this has now been fixed, I’m assuming you reverted to a backup and then re-updated? If not can I ask what has been done to the DB?

So whats really strange then is you’ve reverted to a backup and reapplied the updated on the site, without any issue.

Sounds like something went really wrong with the update on your server, the system question/groups are only created during an activation request after that they aren’t and should never be duplicated, so something really went awol on that update request.

Unfortunately the FTP credentials you sent still don’t work so I can’t view the servers error logs to see if any clues are there (assuming you didn’t do a full DB and files backup).

I can check over those to see if I can find a cause if you can send working credentials:

I reset a backup of November 23rd. The plugin was already up to date. Probably like you said. There was some error in updating. Now it seems to work all properly. Thanks to all Tony.

Please do let us know if you run into further problems.

I’d advise running updates on a development copy of the site (a clone on a sub-domain is best) to confirm there are no issues before applying the update to the live site.

Ok, now i make a website copy in a subdomain. For the upcoming updates I will test first on the test site.

Sounds like a good plan.

Note you’ll need to remove the license key from the subdomain and manually update EE there.
