problems with "duplicate events" function

Hi there, just wanted to mention a few problems I’ve been having with the “duplicate event” function:
– usually, it makes two copies of an event. Sometimes this is useful, but most of the time I have to remember to go back and delete the extra copy
– it switches my default surcharge from a percentage to a flat rate (this has caused a major problem for us, as we’ve been undercharging for tax on many of our events!)
– it changes several settings that were in the original event, such as “allow groupon codes”.
– also, I would find it useful if I was taken straight to the duplicate event (so I can edit and make changes to it), rather than to the event listings or original event, as it does now

the duplicate events function would be a great way to easily create events from an original template, but for now, I’m just finding it too buggy to use on an ongoing basis. Happy to hear any suggestions you have on how to get around these issues, thanks very much!

Hello Irene,

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have been having with the feature, we honestly do try and make sure everything is in order before releasing. That being said with a complex plugin like Event Espresso, sometimes things don’t go according to plan.

You are running 3.1.27.P and in 3.1.28 we fixed some issues with the duplication system.

Testing on the latest installation I could not recreate additional duplicate posts, changes to the surcharge or to other settings.

I would highly recommend you to update to the latest version. If there are still issues, I would be more than happy to take a closer look at the site and see if we can pinpoint the issues.

also, I would find it useful if I was taken straight to the duplicate event (so I can edit and make changes to it), rather than to the event listings or original event, as it does now

I agree with you on that, I will add it to our feature list for possible inclusion in future versions.
