I am having several problems with EE.

1. I’m still not quite sure which version I’m using.
2. on the https://www.alrba.org/events/2017-annual-convention/ page, the embedded code doesn’t seem to be working right. When you click on “add event to cart”, it loads the complete website inside that window. I can’t imagine that’s right.
3. I have users telling me it isn’t working. The most I could find out about what they meant by that is “I only know that as they completed registration they said they got an error message. They both tried to do it several times.”
4. I have 14 registrations pending payment.

I just have no idea what’s going.

Hi there,

I’ll follow up with each of your questions below:

1. I’m still not quite sure which version I’m using.

You can find out which version you’re using by going to the WordPress > Plugins page. The version number of Event Espresso will always be printed there. Your site has version 4.9.31.p.

2. on the https://www.alrba.org/events/2017-annual-convention/ page, the embedded code doesn’t seem to be working right. When you click on “add event to cart”, it loads the complete website inside that window. I can’t imagine that’s right.

The embed code isn’t intended to be used on the website that has Event Espresso installed on it. It’s intended to be used on other websites where you want to put an event registration there. I’ve replaced the embed code with a short code.

I’ve also deactivated the Multi Event Registration add-on. Since you only have 1 event, there’s no need to ask visitors to add the 1 event to the cart then go to checkout. Multi Event Registration is only needed if you have several different events happening and it allows added those different events to the cart before checkout.

3. I have users telling me it isn’t working. The most I could find out about what they meant by that is “I only know that as they completed registration they said they got an error message. They both tried to do it several times.”

4. I have 14 registrations pending payment.

You going to need to set a PayPal Email address in PayPal Settings or set up another payment method. The reason they’re getting an error message is because when they get forwarded to PayPal there’s not PayPal account set in the Event Espresso payment methods settings.

We actually recommend using the PayPal Express payment method instead of PayPal standard. It’s more reliable. So here’s how to fix the payment issues on your website:
1) You log into the PayPal account that you want the payments for registrations to go to.
2) You follow this guide to get your PayPal Express credentials and activate PayPal Express on your website:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/paypal-express-payment-gateway/
3) You deactivate the PayPal Standard option in Event Espresso > Payment Methods.

Side note: I wasn’t able to edit the event until I deactivated the Page Columnist plugin. It’s been reactivated and we can probably add something that will disable that plugins scripts on the Event Espresso event editor page to allow editing events while the Page Columnist plugin is activated.
