G’day,

Many of my pages won’t let people actually register for an event. Here’s an example….

I’ve created an Upcoming Events page (http://www.chaordent.com/livinglegends/whats-on/upcoming-events/) which is using the shortcode [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”special-events”] to give a list of the events in the “Special Events” category.

However, if someone clicks on a Register Now link for an event on this page, (e.g. the Legends of the Turf 2012 event, with the URL http://www.chaordent.com/livinglegends/?page_id=2190&e_reg=register&event_id=562&name_of_event=Legends of the Turf 2012) they are actually taken to the page, http://www.chaordent.com/livinglegends/whats-on/event-registration/?e_reg=register&event_id=562&name_of_event=Legends%20of%20the%20Turf%202012, which is a list of all events, instead of the registration page for this one event.

And the Register Now links on this page also don’t work.

I would have expected the links on both of these pages to have taken people to the registration page for the event, i.e. http://www.chaordent.com/livinglegends/whats-on/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=562

The links on the Event Calendar page take people to the right place.

Obviously I have something setup incorrectly. Can anyone please help me?

Best regards, Lloyd Borrett (on behalf of Andrew Clarke)

It seems this problem was introduced because I switched to using the Recurring Event template files.

I think I’ve found the problem. The Recurring Event template files build a link with the URL fragment e_reg=register.

Changing this in the event_list.php and event_list_display.php files to use the fragment regevent_action=register instead, seems to have fixed the problem.
