This is a double question really. I’m just looking for some clarification on which would be the best option.
The website i run at the moment has a requirement to allow a ‘gift voucher’ for the value of the courses we run. I have had a look at the ticketing add-on and the promotional code add on as well but i am not sure if
A)they will work in the way that i would like
B)If so, which one would be recommended?
The scenario is we would like people to be able to come and purchase a voucher/gift card, which a friend/family member would use later to purchase a place on an event of their choice.
From watching the videos, it would seem i have to tie these tickets to an event when i set them up which would make sense. The issue is that there might not be an event at the recipients nearest venue for a month or maybe more, so if i created these tickets without an event, would they be stuck in some state of limbo? And i’m struggling to work out how i could do something like this.
another concern is that if we set up a voucher code that has 10 spaces available and a member of the website bought 1 of those spaces, would we be able to prevent them from giving that code to a group of friends who could also use the same code, but without initially paying.
I’m only just finding out about this new requirement so i will try to provide some more info if needed, if i can.
