Hi folks,

here’s our latest issue:

When someone subscribes to an event, on the next page (the verification page) the price for the event does not show up and the Button (we named it “Weiter) can not be clicked.

See this picture:

Hi Chris,

Can you test this with your facebook plugin deactivated please? It is throwing a JS error up and we have had numerous facebook plugins conflict in the past.

Also, have you modified any of the template files? If so I would remove them temporarily and test with the originals as it could be an incorrect modification.

Thanks Dean,

I’ve deactivated everything that has to do with FB but that doesn’t change anything. To my knowledge recently no modification on any template file was made .

What to do next?

Install the whole EE thing all over again?

I think we need to some more troubleshooting to find the nature of the problem before uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Did it.

Hi Chris,

I logged into your site and used a new feature to rename your templates folder (it basically deactivates the templates). This resolved the issue of the prices not showing.

However a further issue arose in that no payment gateways are showing. I wanted to delete the plugin and reinstall, but as I am unsure if any core files have been modified, you need to check first. I am thinking that if the template files were an issue there may have been some other changes made.

Hi Dean,

responding to your request:

> We work to minimize the impact we make to templates when we do an update but yes they can change therefore your modifications may need to be moved over to the new templates when an update occurs.
still cannot fully see why the payment page is not coming up. I believe it may be to do with the redirect plugin you have installed. Deactivating it doesnt help, do you know if this plugin saves the data to the .htaccess file?

I can tell that .htaccess was last amended November 26th 2011.
So I guess we can rule out this possibility. If you disagree, I can send you a copy of the .htaccess.

Hi Chris,

I have raised an urgent ticket with the developers to look into this and help as I cannot pinpoint what the issue is with the redirect (and yes you are right if the htaccess is that old it is highly doubtful it is involved, but I had to check 🙂

Thanks Dean,

I put an alert on the website so people get notice that the system isn’t working.

Hope we can fix it soon.

Hi Chris,

Can you log in to the server over FTP and check that there are not gateway files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways, then verify that there are files in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways.

If that is all set, you can then deactivate and reactive Event Espresso and check again. You can also install a fresh copy of Event Espresso from your account page and follow this guide to re-install:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/

Josh,

I did everything as instructed. No files were in wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. Plenty of files were in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways.

I deleted the old Event Espresso and installed a fresh one as told on

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/

I also deactivated all other plugins to check if they cause any trouble.

Results are unchanged. If someone registers for an event he is just not directed further to choose his payment option. Instead he is redirected to a page showing the event list.

Hi Chris,

We are still looking into the issue. A fellow community member also has this problem and has advised that a possible workaround is to turn “Skip confirmation page” to On in the General Settings.

https://eventespresso.com/topic/no-redirect-to-payment-gate-way-no-registration-detail-email-sent/#post-24012

Though not a resolution it may help to bring functionality back to the events in the interim.

Yes, this works for the moment.

But things are running more and more out of control.

We have to deal with our clients manually because of the malfunction of Event Espresso but we try to keep track on the system. Now, when we want to edit an offline payment and set the payment status to “complete”, it says:

“An error occured. The primary attendee details could not be retrieved from the database.”

Business is crashing…

Hi Chris,

I have tested your site by adding myself as a manually added attendee and as a registered attendee. Updating the payment did not cause an error to appear, although I noticed the attendee needs to be updated twice as the completed statement isn’t saved (I will raise a developer ticket for this).

I also cannot recreate either issue on my test server.

I will get back to you on this.
